Oodles of Noodles

Thanksgiving is fast approaching. And with Thanksgiving comes amazing food! It is a tradition in our family to have noodles at Thanksgiving. When I say noodles, I mean delicious, rich, amazing homemade noodles. Not the kind you get from the grocery. Not even the ones that say "Amish" or "homemade" on them. I am talking about the women getting together and making noodles from scratch. Lots of eggs, lots of flour, a little salt and lots of love to make these noodles. These make for an absolute favorite food for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

It is amazing to think about how our grandmothers and great grandmothers used rolling pins and knives to roll and cut the noodles. I am honestly quite glad that we have upgraded to kitchen aid attachments and cutting tools to help with this project. This tradition has gone on for geneartions and generations and I love that it is continued to be passed on to future generations. I hope my children look back and remember making noodles for the holidays.

This year we set a record number of batches with a whopping... 28! What word do we use to describe this? Amazing? Unbelievable? Crazy? Maybe a bit of all those words. We had noodles everywhere. We made enough noodles for the holidays and then to pass among the ladies of our family and they can feed their families noodles throughout the year.

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving full of family traditions and delicious food!
