Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

My family goes through bananas rather quickly, so it's rare to find any old ones sitting around, but when they are available, I sure do love making banana bread! For a healthy touch, I like to add in some chocolate chips. Therefore, instead of adding chopped nuts like the recipe states, I add a cup of chocolate chips.

This recipe comes from my Dad's side of the family, and we thankfully have cookbook full of all of our favorite recipes!

Directions

As Aunt Jane stated above, set your oven to 350 degrees! I do a little extra step at the end, so be sure to read about it!

1. Add melted butter, eggs and sugar together

2. Mix in the baking soda, baking powder, and salt

3. Next, smash three bananas in a separate bowl. Then mix into the dough.

4. Mix in your flour

5. Last, but not least, fold the chocolate chips into the dough (I added one cup of chocolate chips)

6. There was enough dough to do two bread pans, not completely full. I think this helped the dough rise quicker and once out had less "doughy" and burned parts.

7. After 45 minutes in the oven, I let the two pans cool. While they cooled though, I mixed 1/4 cup of sugar and 2 T of melted butter. Then spread the mixture of the baked loaves of bread.

8. Last serve and enjoy :-)
