Chicken Noodle Soup with Homemade Noodles

Chicken Noodle Soup with Homemade Noodles

Now for this recipe, I took a couple recipes online and picked what ingredients I wanted/had.

Ingredients:

Noodles (last recipe)

2 containers of chicken broth (8 cups)

1/2 cup of water

2 boneless chicken breasts

5 large carrots

4 stems of celery

salt to taste

pepper to taste

1/4 tsp of garlic powder

2 stems of green onion

1 basil leaf

First bring 6 cups of water to boil, and place the chicken breasts into the water. Along with the chicken I put in one stem of green onion, 1 basil leaf, salt, pepper, and two stems of celery. You will know when the chicken is done when it's white and the chicken is starting to break apart on its own. The internet also states that when the water hits 160 degrees, the chicken should be done. But please use your own discretion -- if your chicken isn't all the way cooked you may make yourself sick!

Next cut up the celery and carrots - I filled the blue bowl to the right all the way up. But it's your choice on how much you want in your soup!

Next, I poured the 8 cups of chicken broth and 1/2c cup of water into a large pot. Adding in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion, carrots, and celery.

Once all of the ingredients and broth came to a boil, I added in the homemade noodles I made the day before.

Once the chicken had started to shred and was no longer pink, I drained the pot of chicken, making sure to take out the basil leaf, celery, and onion. Then I shredded the chicken a little more.

Pour the shredded chicken into the soup, and let boil for a little longer!

When the soup tastes to your liking, it's ready to serve!

Yum!

Perfect for a chilly, fall evening with family and friends!
